حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ رَجُلًا، فَقَالَ: «يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ مَنْ هَذَا؟» ، فَقُلْتُ: دِحْيَةُ الْكَلْبِيُّ، فَلَمْ أَعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ أَصْحَابَهُ مَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا، قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عُثْمَانَ: مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was talking with a man, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Umm Salamah, who is this?" I said: "Dihyah al-Kalbi." I did not know that he was Jibril (peace be upon him) until I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) relating to his Companions what had passed between the two of them. (Sulayman al-Taymi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:) I asked Abu Uthman: "Who narrated this to you?" He said: "Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him)."
