Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19662 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I hope

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَ النَّارَ أَحَدٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةَ» ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ اللهُ {وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَقْضِيًّا} [مريم: ٧١] ، قَالَ: " أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعِيهِ يَقُولُ: {ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا} [مريم: ٧٢] ؟ "
Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I hope that, if Allah wills, none of those who were present at Badr and al-Hudaybiyah will enter the Fire." I said: O Messenger of Allah! Has Allah Almighty not said: 'There is none of you but will pass over it; that is, for your Lord, a decree that has been settled.' [Surah Maryam: 71]? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you not heard that Allah Almighty says: 'Then We will save those who were God-fearing and leave the wrongdoers therein, fallen on their knees.' [Surah Maryam: 72]?"
