حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ مَسْرُوقٌ، إِذَا حَدَّثَ قَالَ: «حَدَّثَتْنِي الصَّادِقَةُ بِنْتُ الصِّدِّيقِ، الْبَرِيئَةُ الْمُبَرَّأَةُ، بِكَذَا وَكَذَا»
Amir al-Sha'bi relates: It was the practice of Masruq that whenever he narrated a hadith, he would say: The truthful one, daughter of al-Siddiq, the chaste one, the one declared innocent, narrated such-and-such to me.
