حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَنِيِّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَعَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَشِيعَ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا} [النور: ١٩] «يُرِيدُ الْمُحْصَنِينَ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتِ مِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِينَ» {لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ} [النور: ١٩] «يُرِيدُ وَجِيعٌ» ، {فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ} [النور: ١٩] «يُرِيدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا الْجَلْدَ وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ الْعَذَابَ فِي النَّارِ» ، {وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ} [البقرة: ٢١٦] «يُرِيدُ يَعْلَمُ مَا دَخَلْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَا فِيهِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ الْعِقَابِ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شِدَّةَ سَخَطِ اللهِ عَلَى مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Indeed, those who love that indecency should spread among the believers" [Surah An-Nur: 19]: this refers to the chaste men and women from among those who affirm the truth. "Will have a painful punishment" [Surah An-Nur: 19], meaning agonising. "In this world and the Hereafter" [Surah An-Nur: 19], meaning lashes in this world and the punishment of Hell in the Hereafter. "And Allah knows and you do not know" [Surah Al-Baqarah: 216], meaning He knows what you have fallen into and the severe punishment it carries, and you do not know the severity of Allah's intense anger towards whoever does such a thing.
