Aishah bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both), wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (he gave her the kunyah Umm Abdullah after Abdullah bin al-Zubayr; the mother of Aishah and her brother Abd al-Rahman was Umm Ruman bint Amir bin Uwaymir bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf bin Udhaynah bin Subay' bin Dahman bin al-Harith bin Abd bin Malik)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19347 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: After

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أُتِيتُ بِجَارِيَةٍ فِي سَرَقَةٍ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَفَاةِ خَدِيجَةَ فَإِذَا هِيَ أَنْتِ» ، فَقُلْتُ: " إِنْ يَكُنْ هَذَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ يُمْضِهِ، ثُمَّ أُتِيتُ أَيْضًا بِجَارِيَةٍ فِي سَرَقَةٍ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ فَكَشَفْتُهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ أَنْتِ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنْ يَكُنْ هَذَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ يُمْضِهِ "، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَتَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَوَفَّى خَدِيجَةَ قَبْلَ مَخْرَجِهِ مِنْ مَكَّةَ وَأَنَا بِنْتُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ أَوْ سِتِّ سِنِينَ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ جَاءَتْنِي نِسْوَةٌ وَأَنَا أَلْعَبُ عَلَى أُرْجُوحَةٍ وَأَنَا مُجَمَّمَةٌ فَهَيَّأْنَنِي وَصَنَعْنَنِي، ثُمَّ أَتَيْنَ بِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After the death of Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), a girl was shown to me in a piece of silk, and behold, it was you. So I said: If this is from Allah, He will bring it to pass. Then a girl was shown to me again in a piece of silk, and I uncovered her, and behold, it was you. So I said: If this is from Allah, He will bring it to pass." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married me after the death of Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), before he departed from Makkah, when I was seven or six years old. Then when we arrived in Madinah, some women came to me while I was playing on a swing, and my hair was (short,) down to my shoulders. They prepared me and adorned me, then brought me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time I was nine years old.
