حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَسَّانَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ الْقَنَّادُ، ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَدَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَيَّ، فَقَالَ: «وَعَلَيْكُمِ السَّلَامُ وَعَلَيْكُمِ السَّلَامُ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was urinating. I greeted him with salam, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reply. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) got up, went into his house and performed ablution (wudu), then came out to me and said: "Wa 'alaykum al-salam, wa 'alaykum al-salam (And upon you be peace, and upon you be peace)."
