حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: " كَانَتْ أُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ أُمَّهَا زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ عَنْهَا قَالَ لَهَا: «لَا تَزَوَّجِي، فَإِنْ أَرَدْتِ الزَّوَاجَ فَلَا تَخْرُجِي مِنْ رَأْيِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ» ، فَخَطَبَهَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَجَاءَتْ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ تَسْتَأْمِرُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهَا: أَنَا خَيْرٌ لَكِ مِنْهُ فَاجْعَلِي أَمْرَكِ إِلَيَّ فَفَعَلَتْ فَدَعَا رِجَالًا فَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَهَلَكَتْ أُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ عِنْدَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ وَلَمْ تَلِدْ لَهُ فَلَيْسَ لِزَيْنَبَ عَقِبٌ
ذِكْرُ أَزْوَاجِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
مِنْهُنَّ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدِ بِنْتِ أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قُصَيٍّ وَهِيَ أَوَّلُ امْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ أُمُّ وَلَدِهِ الذُّكُورِ وَالْإِنَاثِ إِلَّا إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ سُرِّيَّتِهِ مَارِيَةَ الْقِبْطِيَّةِ
ذِكْرُ أَزْوَاجِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
مِنْهُنَّ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدِ بِنْتِ أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قُصَيٍّ وَهِيَ أَوَّلُ امْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ أُمُّ وَلَدِهِ الذُّكُورِ وَالْإِنَاثِ إِلَّا إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ سُرِّيَّتِهِ مَارِيَةَ الْقِبْطِيَّةِ
Umamah bint Abi al-As, whose mother was Sayyidah Zaynab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), was married to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). When Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, he had (earlier) said to Umamah: "Do not marry, and if you do intend to marry, do not go against the opinion of al-Mughirah bin Nawfal." Then Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan sent her a proposal of marriage, so she came to al-Mughirah to consult him. Al-Mughirah said: I am better for you than he is, so entrust your affair to me. She did so, and al-Mughirah called some men and married her himself. Umamah bint Abi al-As died while married to al-Mughirah bin Nawfal, and she bore him no children, so no descendants of Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) remained.
An account of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Among them is Sayyidah Khadijah bint Khuwaylid bin Asad bin Abd al-Uzza bin Qusayy (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the very first wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and she was the mother of all his (peace and blessings be upon him) sons and daughters except Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was from his (peace and blessings be upon him) slave-woman Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah.
