حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَرَشِيُّ، ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْغَامِدِيُّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي: مَا هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةُ؟، قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى صَابِئٍ لَهُمْ، قَالَ: فَأَشْرَفْتُ فَإِذَا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو النَّاسَ إِلَى تَوْحِيدِ اللهِ وَالْإِيمَانِ بِهِ حَتَّى ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ وَتَصَدَّعَ عَنْهُ النَّاسُ، فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ قَدْ بَدَا نَحْرُهَا تَحْمِلُ قَدَحًا وَمِنْدِيلًا فَتَنَاوَلَهُ مِنْهَا فَشَرِبَ وَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: «يَا بُنَيَّةُ خَمِّرِي عَلَيْكِ نَحْرَكِ وَلَا تَخَافِي عَلَى أَبِيكِ غَلَبَةً وَلَا ذُلًّا» ، فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذِهِ؟، قَالُوا: هَذِهِ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyiduna al-Harith bin al-Harith al-Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked my father: What is this gathering? He said: These are people who have gathered against a sabi' (one who has abandoned their religion) of theirs. He said: I looked, and there was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) calling people to the Oneness of Allah and to belief in Him, until the day grew bright and the people dispersed. Then a woman appeared whose throat was uncovered, carrying a cup and a cloth. He (peace and blessings be upon him) took (the cup) from her, drank and performed ablution, then raised his head towards her and said: "My daughter, cover your throat, and do not fear any defeat or humiliation for your father." I asked: Who is she? The people said: This is Zaynab bint Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him).
