حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُقْبِلٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ الْمُؤَمَّلِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي حَسَّانُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ، مِنْ رَهْطٍ كَنَّازِ بْنِ حِصْنِ الْبَدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو هَرِمٍ هَاشِمُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ الْبُدَيْلِيِّ قَالَ: «أَتَيْتُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَآمَنْتُ بِهِ وَصَدَّقْتُهُ وَسَقَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرْبَةَ سَوِيقٍ شَرِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّلَهَا وَشَرِبْتُ آخِرَهَا، فَمَا زِلْتُ أَجِدُ بَلَّتَهَا عَلَى فُؤَادِي إِذَا ظَمِئْتُ وَبَرْدَهَا إِذَا ضَحِيتُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Aqil al-Budayli (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), believed in him (peace and blessings be upon him) and affirmed him (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a drink of sawiq (barley mash); the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) drank the first part of it and I drank the last part. I still feel its moistness upon my heart whenever I am thirsty, and its coolness whenever I am in the heat of the sun.
