Sayyiduna Abu al-Hajjaj al-Thumali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The grave says to the dead person when he is placed in it: O son of Adam, woe to you! What deceived you about me? Did you not know that I am the house of trial, the house of darkness, the house of loneliness and the house of worms? What deceived you about me when you used to pass by me strutting? Then, if he was righteous, the one who answers on behalf of the grave answers for him and says: Do you not know that he was among those who enjoined good and forbade evil? Then the grave says: In that case I become green for him, his body becomes light, and his soul ascends to the Lord of the worlds." A man said: O Abu al-Hajjaj! What is the faddad? He said: The one who puts one foot forward and another back, like the way you too, O my nephew, sometimes walk, and at that time he dresses (finely) and adorns himself.
