حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْأَخْضَرِ الْعِجْلِيُّ الرَّامُ، حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ، مِنَ الْحَجَبَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ مِسْمَعٌ، وَرَآنِي أُصَلِّي خَلْفَ الْإِسْطُوانَةِ الْوُسْطَى مِنَ الْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي أَنَّهُ: «رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي خَلْفَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ»
Al-Ala bin al-Akhdar al-Ijli narrates that an elder from among the custodians of the House of Allah, who was called Musmi', saw me praying behind the middle pillar of the Ka'bah, and he said: My father narrated to me from my grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying two rak'ahs behind this pillar.
