Talq bin Habib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Abu Taliq (may Allah be pleased with him) that his wife said to him, while he had a male camel and a she-camel: Give me your camel so that I may perform Hajj on it. He said: It is dedicated in the path of Allah. She said: My performing Hajj on it is also in the path of Allah. She said: Then give me the she-camel, and you perform Hajj on your camel. He said: I do not prefer anyone over myself. She said: Then give me something from your provisions. He said: I have nothing beyond what I will take with me and leave for you; if I had it, I would certainly give it. She said: Since you have done all this, then when you meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), convey my greetings of peace to him and tell him what I have said to you. When he met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he conveyed the greetings of Umm Taliq and told him what she had said to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Umm Taliq has spoken the truth. Had you given her your camel, it would have been in the path of Allah; had you given her your she-camel, it too would have been in the path of Allah; and had you given her something from your provisions, Allah would have replaced it for you." He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, then what is equal to Hajj? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing Umrah in Ramadan."
