Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 18951 — Sa'd asked the Prophet ﷺ about bequests

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ السَّرَّاجُ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ: أَنَّ سَعْدًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْوَصِيَّةِ، فَقَالَ: «لَهُ الرُّبُعُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Makhzumi (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about bequests, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A bequest of a quarter (of the wealth) is permissible for him."
