حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ثنا أَبِي، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ وَنَحْنُ شُهُودٌ ثُمَّ أَتَى بِفَرَسٍ فَعَقَلَ حَتَّى رَكِبَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَتَوَقَّصُ بِهِ وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى حَوْلَهُ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ لِابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ مُعَلَّقٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer for Ibn al-Dahdah (may Allah be pleased with him) while we were present. Then a horse was brought and it was held fast until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted it, and it began to prance with him while we ran around him. A man who was with Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How many a date cluster is hanging in Paradise for Ibn al-Dahdah!"
