حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ السُّوَائِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ بِمِنًى، فَإِذَا رَجُلَانِ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ الْمَسْجِدِ لَمْ يُصَلِّيَا فَدَعَا بِهِمَا فَجِيءَ بِهِمَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا فَقَالَ: «مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنَا؟» قَالَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا فِي رِحَالِنَا قَالَ: «فَلَا تَفْعَلَا إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمَا فِي رِحَالِكُمَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُمَا الْإِمَامَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ فَصَلَّيَا مَعَهُ فَإِنَّهَا لَكُمَا نَافِلَةٌ»
The son of Sayyiduna Yazid bin al-Aswad al-Suwa'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that his father said: We prayed the morning prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Mina, and there were two men in the back part of the mosque who had not prayed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had them called, and they were brought, trembling. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What kept you from praying with us?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we had already prayed in our camp." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not do that. When you have prayed in your camp and then come to the imam and he has not yet prayed, pray with him; it will be a voluntary (nafl) prayer for you."
