حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ النَّفْرِ نَزَلْنَا بِالْأَبْطَحِ «فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَالًا فَنَادَى بِالصَّلَاةِ، ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَ وَضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَوَثَبَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْ بَيْنِ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ، ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَ عَنَزَةً فَرَكَزَهَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الطَّرِيقِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Day of Nafr (the day of departure from Mina) came, we halted at al-Abtah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and he called to the prayer; then he came out with the water of the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people rushed upon it: some obtaining some of it and some being sprinkled with it. Then he brought out a short spear and planted it between himself and the road.
