حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: «أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَبْطَحَ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا يَعْنِي يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا، وَأَخْرَجَ فَضْلَ وَضُوئِهِ، فَبَيْنَ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ فَرَكَزَ عَنَزَةً فَخَرَجَ، وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Abtah, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and gave the adhan; it is as if I can still see him, his mouth turning this way and that, that is, right and left. Then he brought out the leftover water of his (peace and blessings be upon him) ablution, and the people set about getting some of it and being sprinkled with it. Then he planted a spear, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, wearing a red suit of clothes; it is as if I can see the gleam of his (peace and blessings be upon him) shins. He (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Zuhr and Asr prayers as two rak'ahs each, until he went back.
