حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيَدُورُ فَأَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا وَأُصْبُعَاهُ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ قَالَ: وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءُ قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْعَنَزَةُ فَرَكَزَهَا فِي الْأَبْطَحِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهَا الظُّهْرَ، وَالْعَصْرَ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ، وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ لَهُ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) giving the adhan and turning around; I kept watching the movement of his mouth this way and that, while his fingers were in his ears. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was at that time in his red tent. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out with a spear and planted it at al-Abtah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Zuhr and Asr prayers facing it, while a dog, a donkey and a woman were passing in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a red suit of clothes; it is as if I can still see the gleam of his (peace and blessings be upon him) shins.
