Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 18361 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fasting

حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، ثنا بَكَّارُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ، وَهُوَ حِصْنٌ مِنْ حُصُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِ، وَكُلُّ عَمِلٍ لِصَاحِبِهِ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fasting is a shield, and it is one of the fortresses of the believer. Every deed belongs to the one who does it except fasting. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: Fasting is for Me, and I Myself will reward it."
