حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ الْحَذَّاءُ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ثنا بُرْدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُظْهِرِ الشَّمَاتَةَ لِأَخِيكَ فَيُعَافِيَهِ اللهُ وَيَبْتَلِيَكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not rejoice at your brother's misfortune, lest Allah grant him well-being and afflict you."
