Simak bin Harb (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates, through Alqamah bin Wa'il bin Hujr, from his father Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: A man from Hadramawt and a man from Kindah came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Hadrami said: O Messenger of Allah, this man has seized from me land that belonged to my father. The Kindi said: It is my land, in my possession; I cultivate it, and he has no right to it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have any evidence?" He said: No. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then you are entitled to his oath." He said: O Messenger of Allah, he is a wicked man; he does not care what he swears upon, and he refrains from nothing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have nothing from him except that." So he went off to take the oath, and when he turned his back, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Know that if he swears upon his property in order to consume it unjustly, he will meet Allah while He is turning away from him."
