حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْقَزَّازُ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ «أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ كُفَّارٍ فَقَتَلَهُمَا وَسَلَبَهُمَا فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَرِهَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ , وَأَهْدَى لَهُ سَلَبَهُمَا فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْهُ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was with two disbelieving men of his people, and he killed them both and took their belongings, then came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked what he had done, and when he offered him (peace and blessings be upon him) the belongings as a gift, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not accept it.
