Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 18138 — I heard Mughirah bin Shu'bah say

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، قَالَا , ثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، ثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ، يَقُولُ: انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ , لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ , فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَادْعُوا اللهَ وَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْكَشِفَ»
Ziyad bin Ilaqah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: I heard Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah; they are not eclipsed on account of anyone's death or life. When you see them (eclipsed), supplicate to Allah and pray until (the eclipse) clears."
