حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ مُدْرِكَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: حَجَجْتُ مَعَ أَبِي فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِمِنًى إِذَا جَمَاعَةٌ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي: مَا هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةُ؟ قَالَ: عَلَى هَذَا الصَّابِئِ، فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، قُولُوا: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ تُفْلِحُوا "
Sayyiduna Mudrikah bin al-Harith al-Azdi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I performed Hajj with my father. When we were at Mina, we saw a gathering. I asked my father: What is this gathering? He said: It is around this Sabi' (one declared to have abandoned his religion). And there was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "O people! Say: There is no true god except Allah, and you will be successful."
