Sayyiduna Mas'ud bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I sent a sheep to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then I went off for some need, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent half of it back to my household." I returned to my wife, Umm Khunas, and found that she had meat. I said: O Umm Khunas! What is this meat? She said: This is the meat that your friend (peace and blessings be upon him) sent back to us from the sheep that you sent to him. I said: Why have you not fed it to your children since the morning? She said: "This is what they left over; otherwise, I have fed all of them. And they would slaughter two or three sheep and still it would not suffice them."
