حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ ظَاهِرًا حَتَّى يَقُومَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ» ، وَقَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَتْ عَلَيَّ، وَكَانَ أَبِي أَدْنَى إِلَيْهِ مَجْلِسًا مِنِّي فَقُلْتُ: مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ: «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
Al-Sha'bi narrates that Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The affair of this Ummah will always remain victorious until twelve (caliphs) have risen." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said something that was hidden from me. My father was sitting closer to him (peace and blessings be upon him) than I was, so I asked: What did he (peace and blessings be upon him) say? He said: "All of them will be from Quraysh."
