Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17831 — I came to the Prophet ﷺ and spoke to him

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ مِحْجَنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَلَّمْتُهُ فِي حَاجَةٍ، ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَوَجَدَنِي جَالِسًا، فَقَالَ لِي: «مَا أَنْتَ مُسْلِمٌ؟» قُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: «فَمَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ مَعَنَا؟» قُلْتُ: إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ فِي رَحْلِي، قَالَ: «وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ فِي رَحْلِكَ»
Sayyiduna Mihjan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke to him about a need. Then the prayer was established while I was sitting. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, then when he finished he found me sitting and said: "Are you not a Muslim?" I said: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then what prevented you from praying with us?" I said: "I had already prayed at my lodging." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if you have already prayed at your lodging."
