حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ حَذْلَمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ غَازِيًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَزَلُوا إِلَى جَانِبِ حَظَائِرِ يَهُودَ بِخَيْبَرٍ، فَتَنَاوَلَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا، فَانْطَلَقْتِ الْيَهُودُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ، فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَنَادَى: «الصَّلَاةُ جَامِعَةٌ، وَلَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مُسْلِمٌ» ، فَقَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: " مَاذَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِ الْمُعَاهِدِينَ لِغَيْرِ حَقِّهَا؟ يَقُولُونَ: مَا وَجَدْنَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ مِنْ حَلَالٍ أَحْلَلْنَاهُ، وَمَا وَجَدْنَاهُ مِنْ حَرَامٍ حَرَّمْنَاهُ، أَلَا وَإِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ أَمْوَالَ الْمُعَاهِدِينَ وَكُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ، وَمَا سُخِّرَ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ إِلَّا مَا سَمَّى اللهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). They camped beside the enclosures of the Jews at Khaybar, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took some of what was in them. The Jews went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained to him about it. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Khalid bin al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him), who announced: "Gather for the prayer, and none will enter Paradise except a Muslim." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us, praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: "What is lawful for you of the wealth of those under covenant (mu'ahid) without right? People say: 'Whatever we found lawful in the Book of Allah we have treated as lawful, and whatever we found unlawful we have treated as unlawful.' Indeed, I declare unlawful the wealth of those under covenant, every predatory animal with fangs, and the subjugated (domestic) animals, except those that Allah has named."
