حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ بْنُ يَعْلَى الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ فَعَبِّدُوا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Zuhayr al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you name (children), give them names expressing servitude (to Allah)."
