حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَبِيبٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَرَفَعَهُ مُعَاذٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «جَنِّبُوا مَسَاجِدَكُمْ صِبْيَانَكُمْ، وَخُصُومَاتِكُمْ وَحُدُودَكُمْ وَشِرَاءَكُمْ وَبَيْعَكُمْ وَجَمِّرُوهَا يَوْمَ جَمْعِكُمْ، وَاجْعَلُوا عَلَى أَبْوَابِهَا مَطَاهِرَكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, and he attributed it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep your mosques free of your children, your quarrels, (the carrying out of) your legal punishments (hudud), and your buying and selling; perfume them (with incense) on your day of Jumu'ah; and set up your places of ablution at their doors."
