Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17489 — from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal; he said

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنِ السَّلُولِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ أَتَّخِذْ مِنْبَرًا فَقَدِ اتَّخَذَهُ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ، وَإِنْ أَتَّخِذِ الْعَصَا فَقَدِ اتَّخَذَهَا أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ»
Al-Saluli (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I take a pulpit, my father Ibrahim (peace be upon him) also took one; and if I take a staff, my father Ibrahim (peace be upon him) also took one."
