Malik bin Yukhamir al-Saksaki (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a woman to give permission (to anyone) in her husband's house when he dislikes it, nor to go out when he dislikes it, nor to obey anyone else in this matter, nor to be harsh to his breast, nor to forsake his bed, nor to strike him. Even if he is the more unjust of the two, (she should do so) until she pleases him. If he is pleased and accepts (her apology), then that is good: Allah has accepted her excuse and made her face beautiful, and there is no sin upon her. And if he refuses to be pleased with her, then she has conveyed her excuse."
