حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ يُخَامِرَ السَّكْسَكِيُّ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ قَاتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ فُوَاقَ نَاقَةٍ فَقَدْ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ، وَمَنْ سَأَلَ اللهَ الْقَتْلَ مِنْ عِنْدِ نَفْسِهِ صَادِقًا، ثُمَّ مَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ فَلَهُ أَجْرُ شَهِيدٍ، وَإِنْ جُرِحَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَوْ نُكِبَ نَكْبَةً فَإِنَّهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَوْنُهَا كَالزَّعْفَرَانِ، وَرِيحُهَا كَالْمِسْكِ، وَمَنْ جُرِحَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَعَلَيْهِ طَابَعُ الشُّهَدَاءِ»
Malik bin Yukhamir al-Saksaki (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) told them that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whichever Muslim man fights in the path of Allah even for the length of a camel's fuwaq, Paradise becomes binding for him. Whoever sincerely asks Allah from his heart to be killed (martyrdom), then dies or is killed, will have the reward of a martyr. And if he is wounded in the path of Allah or struck by some calamity, on the Day of Resurrection its colour will be like saffron and its fragrance like musk. And whoever is wounded in the path of Allah will bear the seal of the martyrs."
