Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17279 — from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal

Abdur Rahman bin Ghanm (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Glad tidings to the one who increases in the remembrance of Allah during jihad in the path of Allah, for he will have seventy thousand good deeds for every word, each good deed of them tenfold, besides the additional (reward) that he has with Allah." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, what about spending? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spending is also in accordance with that." Abdur Rahman said: I said to Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him): But spending is only seven hundredfold. Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "How little is your understanding! That is only when they spend it in ordinary circumstances, while residing with their families and not on campaign. But when they go on campaign and spend, Allah stores up for them from the treasury of His mercy such that the knowledge and description of the servants cannot reach it. These are the party of Allah, and the party of Allah are the ones who prevail."
