Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17159 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: A newborn

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَكَّارٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، وَجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَرِثُ الصَّبِيُّ حَتَّى يَسْتَهِلَّ صَارِخًا» وَاسْتِهْلَالُهُ أَنْ يَصِيحَ أَوْ يَبْكِي، أَوْ يَعْطِسَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah and Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A newborn does not inherit until it shows a sign of life by crying out." And its showing that is that it screams, or cries, or sneezes.
