Sayyiduna Jundub bin Najiyah (or Najiyah bin Jundub) (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When we were at al-Ghamim, news reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from Quraysh that they had sent Khalid bin al-Walid with a swift troop of horsemen to confront the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked meeting them, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) was merciful towards them. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who is the man who will take us away from the road?" I said: I am, may my father be sacrificed for you. So I took them along a route with rough ground, hollows and heights, then the ground became level for us, until he brought him (peace and blessings be upon him) down at al-Hudaybiyah, where the water was very scant. He (peace and blessings be upon him) put an arrow from his quiver (or his arrow) into it, then spat into it, then supplicated, and its springs gushed forth, until I would say (or we would say): If we wished, we could scoop out the water with our hands.
