Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1712 — a sorcerer used to perform tricks

Abu Uthman al-Nahdi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a sorcerer used to perform tricks in the presence of al-Walid bin Uqbah. He would take a sword and slaughter himself, and do things of that sort, and it would not harm him. So Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) rose towards the sword, took it and struck his neck. Then he recited this verse: "Do you then come to sorcery while you can see?" [Surah al-Anbiya: 3].
