It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There was a servant from among the servants of Allah to whom Allah had given wealth and children. A part of his life passed and a part remained, so he said to his sons: 'What kind of father have I been to you?' They said: 'The best of fathers.' He said: 'By Allah, I will not leave with anyone any wealth of mine that I gave him without taking it back, unless you do what I tell you.' So he took a firm pledge from them, then said: 'Well then, look: when I die, burn me in the fire, then grind me to powder, then wait for a windy day and scatter my ashes; perhaps I will escape from Allah.' He said: Then he was summoned and he was put back together, and it was said to him: 'What made you do what you did?' He said: 'I feared Your punishment.' So it was said: 'Go on your way.' And so his repentance was accepted."
