Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17048 — I said: O Prophet of Allah! Our wives

Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I said: "O Prophet of Allah! Our wives: what may we do with them and what must we leave?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are your tilth, so come to your tilth however you wish, except that you do not strike the face, do not revile her, and do not separate from her except within the house. Feed her when you eat, and clothe her when you clothe yourself. How could you (do otherwise), when you have become intimate with one another?"
