Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17024 — I said: O Messenger of Allah! Choose
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْإِيَادِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ الْهُذَلِيِّ، عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ خِرْ لِي، فَنَحَا بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الشَّامِ، فَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ رِجَالًا وَرُكْبَانًا وَتُجَرُّونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ مُفْدَمَةٌ أَفْوَاهُكُمْ بِالْفِدَامِ، وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يَبْدَأُ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ» .
Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Choose the best place for me." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Syria (al-Sham), then said: "O people! You will be gathered on foot and riding, and dragged on your faces, with your mouths sealed, and the first thing of each of you with which it will begin is his thigh."
