حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا عَدِيُّ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟، قَالَ: «أُمَّكَ» ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟، قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ» ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟، قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ» ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟، قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أَبَاكَ» ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟، قَالَ: «ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ» .
Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, to whom should I show the most kindness?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your mother." I said: "Then whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then your mother." I said: "Then whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then your mother." I said: "Then whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then your father." I said: "Then whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then the nearest relative, and then the next nearest."
