حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا، يُحَدِّثُ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ بِنْتِ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، وَكَانَ يُمَرِّضُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ مُعَاوِيَةُ عَلَى عَمَّارٍ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ قَالَ: اللهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْ مَنِيَّتَهُ بِأَيْدِينَا، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «تُقْتَلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ»
The daughter of Hisham bin al-Walid bin al-Mughirah, who used to nurse Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him), relates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) visited Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), and when he came out from him he said: O Allah, do not let his death be at our hands, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Ammar will be killed by the rebellious group."
