Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1687 — from Sayyiduna Jundub: I heard

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ سَمَّعَ سَمَّعَ اللهُ بِهِ، وَمَنْ رَاءَى رَاءَى اللهُ بِهِ»
Salamah bin Kuhayl relates that it is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever seeks fame, Allah will make his disgrace famous, and whoever shows off, Allah will expose his showing off."
