حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَا: ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا حَبِيبُ بْنُ الشَّهِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ، أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ، دَخَلَ بَيْتًا فِيهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَقَعَدَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَقَامَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، وَكَانَ أَرْزَنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ، فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ الرِّجَالُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»
It is narrated from Abu Mijlaz (may Allah have mercy on him) that Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) entered a house in which Abdullah bin Amir and Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) were present. Ibn al-Zubayr remained seated and Abdullah bin Amir stood up, and he was the more dignified of the two men. Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever is pleased that people should stand up before him, let him take his seat in the Fire."
