حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَلَى مِنْبَرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ قُصَّةُ شَعْرٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ فِي أَهْلِي، وَإِنَّهُمْ زَعَمُوا أَنَّ النِّسَاءَ يَزِدْنَهُ فِي شُعُورِهِنَّ، وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمَوْصُولَةَ»
Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin al-Aswad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) that he heard Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he had a lock of hair with him. He said: "I found this among my household, and they claim that women add it to their hair. And I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Allah has cursed the woman who joins hair and the woman who has her hair joined.'"
