حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ أَنَّ فِتْيَةً سَأَلُوا أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ تَخْيِيرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَنْصَارَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «خَيْرُ قَبَائِلِ الْأَنْصَارِ دُورُ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ثُمَّ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ، ثُمَّ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ ثُمَّ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ، وَفِي كُلِّ الْأَنْصَارِ خَيْرٌ» ، قَالَ أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ: " لَوْ كُنْتُ قَائِلًا غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ لَبَدَأْتُ بِجَدِّي، وَكَانَ أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ سَاعِدِيًّا
Umarah bin Ghaziyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that some young men asked Abu Usayd about the Messenger of Allah's (peace and blessings be upon him) ranking of the Ansar. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The best of the tribes of the Ansar are the households of Banu al-Najjar, then Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then Banu al-Harith bin al-Khazraj, then Banu Sa'idah; and in all the Ansar there is good." Abu Usayd said: "If I were one to say anything other than the truth, I would have begun with (the family of) my grandfather." And Abu Usayd was from Banu Sa'idah.
