Sayyiduna Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the grave of Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him). The people would pull the sheet over his face and his feet would be uncovered, and when they pulled it over his feet his face would be uncovered. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Put it over his face, and cover his feet with (the leaves of) this tree." The narrator said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head and saw that his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions were weeping. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come upon the people when they will go out to fertile lands, and there they will find food, clothing and a mount, or he said: mounts. Then they will write to their families: Come to us, for you are in a land that is a mere passage and a place of drought. Yet Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. And whoever bears patiently its hardship and severity, I will be an intercessor and a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection."
