حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبُّودٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّاطَرِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَة، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَجْلِسَيْنِ: أَمَا أَحَدُهُمَا فَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقِيلَ: هَذَا فُلَانٌ، وَبِئْسَ الرَّجُلُ، وَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهِ شَرًّا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَعْلَمُونَ ذَلِكَ؟» ، فَقَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «وَجَبَتْ» ، وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ فَقَالُوا: هَذَا فُلَانٌ، وَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا، فَقَالَ: «تَعْلَمُونَ ذَلِكَ؟» ، فَقَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «وَجَبَتْ»
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I witnessed two gatherings with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). In one of them a funeral was brought and it was said: This is so-and-so, and he was a bad man, and evil was spoken of him. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know that?" The Companions said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has become due (that is, Hell has become due for him)." In the other gathering, the funeral of a man was brought and it was said: This is so-and-so, and good was spoken of him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know that?" The Companions said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has become due (that is, Paradise has become due for him)."
