حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عِيسَى التَّنُوخِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: مَرَّ عَلِيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَلْزَمُ غَرِيمًا لِي، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا كَعْبُ خُذِ الشَّطْرَ، وَدَعِ الشَّطْرَ»
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was holding on to a debtor of mine. He (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to me with his hand and said: "O Ka'b! Take half and leave half."
