Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16218 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْقُرَشِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِيسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ مَعْرُورٍ، وَقَدْ أَخَذَتْهُ ذَبْحَةٌ، فَأَمَرَ مَنْ يَبُطُّهُ بِالنَّارِ حَتَّى يُوَجِّهَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) visited Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Ma'rur (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was suffering from an inflammation of the throat, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it be lanced with fire (cauterised) so that he would recover.
